There’s quite a bit I want to say about this comic but I’m hard pressed for time, so for a change, I’m just going to number my description points and you may pick out what you will!

1. WTF, “selective hearing”? - It’s a common trend in all RPGs for the lead character to repeat words and phrases that have just been said, just for the sake of beating the importance of those words into the player’s head… (ooh I just rhymed) but in Star Ocean 3, the trend is CHRONIC. One day I’m going to sit down and personally count the number of times Fayt winds up repeating things by rephrasing the exact sentence as a question, or where all else fails, interjects the ever reliable “Huh?” Hence I have a theory that Fayt has selective hearing, or… well, just has several kilos worth of ear wax to offload. O__o Mix my poking-fun with Sophia death and you have a very happy Zen camper!

2. “Stone rain…?” - For non-SO3 playing deviants, Stone Rain is a magic spell in the game which Fayt and Sophia can both learn. Sophia gets mushed in this comic because Fayt wound up saying the words “Stone Rain” and automatically casts the spell. Just thought that needed to be cleared up otherwise I’ll be getting lots of knocks on my door by addled people…!

3. Gee, you really don’t like Sophia… - Hell yeah. ^__^ Now this isn’t to say I don’t use her as a party member – for my past two playthroughs she’s been one of my permanent members since she’s a better option than Adray, and I’ve put up with her long enough to level her up to level 255… but in all other aspects SHE MUST DIE. One of the reasons can be seen in the first three panels of the comic. Sophia’s dialogue there was taken straight from the game – those three sentences are some of the things she says whenever she levels up, and it’s the first one in particular that really gets my goat because I hatehatehate singsong talk! >__< Secondly I have a great dislike for pink, and Sophia wears pink rampantly. Yuck. Third, she’s a nagging goody-two shoes. (“That’s not very nice!” Fourth, listening to her voice makes me lose the will to live. O__o BUT on the up side, you do get the delightful option of insulting her by calling her an idiot during the game. I exercise my right freely and joyfully. As much as I am put off by Sophia, she is still only second on my list of most hated RPG female character of all time since first place will always be filled by Rinoa of FF8. ROWRRRR.

4. Albel fangirl, huh? - I’m not even going to try and deny that this was a bloody obvious excuse to draw Albel half naked. *Coff* >________>;;;;;;

5. Technical stuff? - I don’t know why but comics always take a lot out of me, so I should stay away from them otherwise I’d never upload anything! This comic was spread out over 5 A4 pages and then slowly inked, cg’ed, word-bubbledfied and finally pieced together over three days. I simplified my style as best as I could and did one hell of a lot of copy-and-pasting but it still took ages, go figure. O__o I felt out of my element anyway, since I’m not used to drawing “silly” things so this was a bit of a challenge. This is obviously the tallest deviation I’ve ever made, arranged in one line because I didn’t want anyone skipping to the ending too early… and I know I say this every time I upload a comic page but I SWEAR I’m taking a good long break from comics for a loooong time.

That’s all I have to say for now, winter has numbed my fingers and drained me of all typing power… T___T *Crawls back under her blanket*
