ARTIST THOUGHTS: I associate all of my pics with songs but I don’t always put the lyrics in the title and description… not so this time. (I was thinking of linking this pic to JC Chasez’s ‘All day long I dream about sex’ but maybe later… ) Music aside though, this pic is my half of an interactive trade with the very talented which is also going to serve as an entry for a contest she’s holding! ^^ The whole thing started when I started drooling over pics of her chara Ahd’ar’ohk in her gallery… since Taro is a total queen when it comes to drawing hot guys, it only seemed logical to pair Ahddy off with one of my own blokes and to see what would come of it! Actually, I’ve been waiting for an excuse to draw something like this for a very long time, so excuse me while I air some of my sordid thoughts…

I should probably point out first that neither Cal or Ahddy is gay, so girls, HOPE ENDURES… Taro explained to me though that Ahddy has a tendency to hit on guys ‘in an attempt to be gay,’ so when tossing up on who to draw him with, Cal seemed like the best candidate - the thing with Cal is that he’s so indifferent to everything and everyone that a piano could fall on his head and it wouldn’t register for at least two hours and thirty four minutes, by his count. Hence, if Ahddy didn’t want someone to treat his flirting as anything more serious then that, Cal would be his man!

Cal: (Twenty minutes later and completely deadpan) There appears… to be an unusual tension in my pelvic region. >___>

$%^&**()(#@!!!!!! O___O You’ve just been jumped by one of the hottest guys ever created and THAT’S the best description you can come up with???
*Will reprimand him later* :threat: Ahem, anyway… I also figured that since Ahddy is an extremely affluent magic user, he’d be more than capable of catching Cal unawares even in his own element, namely Autumn… it kinda helps that Cal is literally blind though. Unfair advantage? You bet! But alas, Cal thus cannot see the shiny pants…! *Mourns the lost opportunity*

TECHNICAL SIDE: Speaking of pants, that brings me into the technical side of the pic… yes everyone, Zen has gone digital all of a sudden after unlocking the secrets of the Photoshop polygon tool! I’ve always admired the cel shading style of anime, and I’m so glad to be able to say that I’ve found a third style to work with. The problem though is that it’s extremely taxing – I worked on the colouring all week, including working up to 4 am on two consecutive nights, and then as if that wasn’t enough, I got a stye on my left eye which made it puff up and hurt like crazy… O____o;;; working on computer colouring with a pimple inside your eye is NOT recommended, peoples!

Enough about pimples. Anyway, the line art for this pic was also tampered with digitally because I applied a stamp filter to it in order to get the lines thicker – that’s why there appears to be less details, since some of them merged into each other in the process. The colouring is as high contrast as I could make it since I was working with dark colours, so behold peoples, the absence of shinies! O_____O Unless you count the pants. Ooh, leather… Taro, I saw one of your descriptions mentioning Ahddy hates pants, but I couldn’t resist putting him in the red leather you chose for him in the pic I saw… for the rest of you who are curious, check out the pic here: www.deviantart.com/deviation/7… (OMG *nose bleed*)

And that ends my spot of rambling for now, since my left eye still hurts and I should be taking a break from this comp after practically living in Photoshop all week! Enjoy the pic (in more ways than one ) and I hope Cal and I have done Ahddy justice, since I know how much he means to you!

Note: this will be the last upload for a little while since I’m taking time out from art to work on my assignments for this semester, but I’ll still be lurking around DA keeping an eye on you all!
