Description
CHARACTER: Fayt Leingod (aka. Please-Zen-no-more-needles man! )
PIC STATUS: Fanart (fan source – ‘Star Ocean: Till the End of Time’!)
CHARACTER OWNER: Tri-Ace. Is it unhealthy to love a company this much? O__o
MEDIUMS: Macromedia Flash (line art), Photoshop CS (colouring, brushes)
--------------------------------------
NOTE: Thumbnails seem to hate this pic a lot. Believe me when I say it looks quite different at full view!
ARTIST THOUGHTS: This was drawn and finished about three months ago, but due to evil uni I wasn’t able to upload it because I had no time to reply to any consequent messages it would’ve received. T__T Anyway yes, this started out as a very quick mouse drawn sketch in Flash (ALL HAIL THE SMOOTHING TOOL) but rather than face writing one of my essays, I imported it into Photoshop and kept fiddling with it. It was one of many doodled Flash sketches I did in fits of boredom since I was living in Flash for most of the semester, but this is the only one which I thought could be turned into a full pic – so no finished Albel sketches, sorry fellow fangirls!
First Star Ocean fan art I’ve drawn which isn’t in wallpaper form, but that’s what happens when you do rushed computer sketches at a puny resolution and wind up working on them even though they can’t be resized. So yeah, it’s Fayt. And for once Albel is nowhere in sight, oh my Lord. X_____x *Jumps off the nearest roof for committing such blasphemy* But Fayt is quite cute in his own way so I didn’t mind too much… he’s got nice hair, anyway. And I like drawing nice hair. Hence I drew Fayt in order to feel nice. And I do feel nice. O__o OMG WOW, don’t you just love logic??? Nice enough to not subject Fayt this time around to the sadistic tendencies which seem to make themselves known whenever I do Star Ocean fan art… damn that puppy dog look. >__> (“Don’t HURT me Zen!!” T___T) Awwww, how could you stick needles in that face??? (Albel: Quite easily.) Hush you...! >_>;;
TECHNICAL STUFF: The most spontaneous and simplest sketch I’ve done in about a year, so it nearly winded up in scraps… Since I liked how the colouring turned out though, I gave it a shot in my main gallery. *Whew* The brushes definitely helped as well – for all Star Ocean 3 players, the diagram brushes were a homage to Fayt’s natural engineering skill, the hex cells a reference to his gene (you all know which gene I’m talking about!) and the feathers for his delightful battle skill, Ethereal Blast. The binary “code” was just some rapidly typed zeroes and ones… I did try and find some binary code brushes, but then I realized just how lazy-arsed that would’ve been when it ain’t that hard to type two numbers over and over again. *Cough* O___@ Players who’ve completed the game will know why binary code matters! Personally I know absolutely nothing about the stuff, you’re looking at someone who nearly failed software development class.

And that’s all from me folks, I’ve still got two more descriptions to write…!
